Geithner’s embarassment

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. Upon hearing about Secretary of the Treasury Timoth Geithner’s plans for the economy, I sought out the website “financialstability.gov”. I was met with an emboldened statement:

This site is coming soon.

This is both comical, and pathetic. It is as if “Financial Stability” will never come to “.gov, or the government”.

Greatest President? Not who you think.

A recent Gallup poll asked 1,018 adults nationwide who they considered to be the greatest president, given a choice between George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Franklin Roosevelt, John Kennedy, and Ronald Reagan. Surprisingly, the top choice was…

(Drumroll please?)

…Ronald Reagan?

This was a surprising result to many people. Ronald Reagan is a revered President, speaking generally, but does not usually even get mentioned alongside the most popular and historical Presidents like Lincoln, FDR, and Washington. Interestingly, George Washington came in last, with John Kennedy and Lincoln tying for second.

Reagan: 24%
Kennedy: 22%
Lincoln: 22%
Roosevelt: 18%
Washington: 9%
Other/unsure: 5%
